Specific Courses of Treatment

Rehabilitative singing therapy

Rehabilitative singing therapy: Like a professional athlete, professional voice users are prone to injury.  I am committed to getting you back to the activity that you love.  I am happy to help professionals and recreational singers alike.  Typical therapy course will be customized based on patient needs.

Rehabilitation of voice disorders

You do not have to be a singer to benefit from voice therapy. Teachers, aerobics instructors, telemarketers, salespeople and other professional voice users are also at high risk of developing a problem with their voice.   Many people encounter changes in their voice due to injury or weakness that lead to changes in their voice quality, pitch, loudness and/or resonance.  I will provide you with a customized treatment plan that fits your underlying impairment.  Because my treatment approach will change based on your diagnosis,  you will require an ENT evaluation prior to initiating therapy.  Telepractice options are available after initial evaluation.
Typical therapy course: 4-6 sessions

Parodoxical Vocal Fold Motion / Vocal cord dysfunction

This breathing/upper airway problem can occur in response to specific triggers such as exercise, strong smells and perfumes and stress.  It occurs commonly with recreational or professional athletes but can also occur with people who are not physically active.  Speech pathology services can teach you breathing strategies to manage your episodes and aide you in identifying any underlying medical triggers that may be contributing to your episodes.  You will require an ENT evaluation prior to initiating therapy.
Typical therapy course: 4-6 sessions

Speech Therapy for People with Parkinson’s

I am LSVT and SpeakOut certified.  I have extensive experience with people with Parkinson’s and believe in a personalized (rather than a prescriptive) approach to therapy.  Most effective therapy courses are 3-5 times per week, dependent on the protocol/protocols which suit you the best.  Voice maintenance/periodic check-in sessions are also available on request. Telepractice options are available after initial evaluation.
Typical therapy course: Personalized for Individual Patient

McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Protocol (MDTP)

This highly effective therapeutic protocol is completed multiple sessions per week and has a strong research basis for swallowing rehabilitation. Telepractice options are available after initial evaluation.  Patients will require an objective swallow test prior to beginning MDTP (FEES or MBSS).
